We love purses! I guess we are what you would call purse elitists, that’s why we started PurseTradeIn.com  an elite club for members to sell, trade, or donate their purses to charity.  We started our club in Miami Beach among our friends, getting together at each other’s homes for our famous purse trade-in parties.   Until one day we decided, why not bring our club to the Web and share our fun with the rest of the World? That’s how PurseTradeIn.com got started.   The idea has become a huge success, as we have members trading, buying and selling purses from all over the USA, Central and South America, and Europe.  Launching PurseTradeIn.com has allowed us to turn our dual passions for fashion and software engineering into a successful business and career. What’s so exciting about PurseTradeIn.com is that it capitalizes on our extensive expertise in two very diverse fields: designer purses and e-commerce. Using the latest, state-of-the-art  Web technologies, we deliver a fun and user-friendly platform to our clients.  But what sets our site apart is our stringent quality control option, which verifies the authenticity and excellent condition of the purses. We heard from our customers that this was exactly what they were looking for, so we’re delivering it. Finally, we want to extend the benefit of our platform to many charitable organizations that could benefit from auctioning our products, so we encourage our clients to donate those purses they don’t need to the many charities that are partnering with us. 

Ligia is the President and Chief Executive Officer of PurseTradeIn.com.  She’s also the author of the column “Ask Ligia, Fashion Diva” for Mode Lifestyle  Magazine, where she shares with her readers her fashion secrets. Ligia has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Finance  and International business from Florida International University and  a Masters Degree in Computer Science from The European University, in Antwerp, Belgium.  Ligia spent several years teaching software engineering at Florida International University and the University of Miami.   Ligia is also a black belt  2^nd  degree karate expert, and has been practicing  Japaneese karate-do  “Shito-Ryu”  for over 20 years.  She has won numerous tournaments including two glod medals in State Championships in Florida, USA Nationals  and International competitions, giving a new meaning to her killer-eye for fashion!

Irma is the  Chief Financial Officer of PurseTradeIn.com. She is also the Executive Director of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center and  Professor of Information systems at Florida International University.  Irma has a Bachelor’s and Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Miami and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University.   Her area of expertise includes  entrepreneurship, knowledge management (KM), KM systems, enterprise systems, and disaster management. She has studied and advised organizations, in particular NASA, about KM practices. She is the author of three books in the areas of KM and business intelligence.  She has delivered many invited presentations at many NASA Centers, the NAVY Research Lab, universities around the world, and many international conferences with both an academic and a practitioner focus.
